Check Mic Mode on Mac when recording audio in Logic Pro or GarageBand
If your audio sounds different than you expect when recording audio on your Mac, check to make sure that Mic Mode is set to Standard.
Mic Mode settings other than Standard are designed to help with background noise on phone calls, FaceTime calls, and video conferences. But they change the sound of the audio input, whether it's the built-in mic on your Mac or external audio sources. Make sure to set Mic Mode to Standard when recording audio for creative purposes.
With an app that uses audio input like Logic Pro open on your Mac, click the
in the menu bar. If the icon isnt in the menu bar, the Mic Modes feature doesn't apply to the app you're using. If you have more than one app open that supports Mic Mode, click the app in the Mic Mode menu.
Under Mic Mode, click Standard.
