Update the birth date associated with your Apple Account
It’s important to have your correct birth date on file with your Apple Account. It’s used in features like Family Sharing and in some cases, it might be used to help reset your password.
Edit your date of birth
You can edit your birth date in your Apple Account settings.
On the web
Sign in to account.apple.com.
Select Personal Information, then choose Birthday.
Update your date of birth, then click Save. If you're changing a birth date for a child, find out about restrictions to editing birth dates.
Depending on how you created your Apple Account, you might be required to provide additional information or change your Apple Account primary user name from a mobile phone number to an email address.
On your iPhone or iPad
Go to Settings > [your name].
Tap Personal Information. You may need to sign in to your Apple Account.
Tap your birth date to edit it.
Update your date of birth, then tap Done. If you’re changing a birth date for a child, find out about restrictions to editing birth dates.
If you want to change an Apple Account to a child account, follow the steps for the web instead of using a device.
About changing a birth date for a child
To change a birth date to any age below 13*, the account must be a member of a Family Sharing group, and the family organiser must approve the change. Follow the steps to change a birth date on the web. You can also create a new Apple Account for a child.
To change a birth date of any child account set to an age below 13*, you might have to wait for the account to naturally age up. If you see “your birth date cannot be changed to this date”, you can’t change to a birth date that would no longer be a child account.*
